Another April Fool’s Idea: Serve up an old standard with a new twist: Split a grilled bratwurst (or other sausage) in half and place in a banana split dish or small oval casserole. Between the two brat halves, place one heaping scoop each of macaroni salad, potato salad and coleslaw. Drizzle steak sauce and mustard over the two outer scoops. Over the center scoop, use a star tip to pipe a dollop of mashed potatoes. Pickle relish adds some color, and a cherry tomato tops it off just right.
